Employment
Individuals with a disability are Ohio’s largest minority group. The vast majority of the 800,000 working-age Ohioans with a disability would like to work. Moreover, Ohioans with a disability bring many key success factors to the workplace.
A recent study of 314 workplaces found employees with disabilities had the same job performance ratings as the overall workforce; did not require more supervisory time; were no more likely to be absent, late or have off-work time; had no more workplace accidents; and were less likely to quit their job.
In short, Ohioans with disabilities comprise a highly motivated, highly productive group of potential workers available to employers of any size.
