Publications List 2011

Below are the publications offered by the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission. Employment

 E-3  Guide to Information Interviewing   is a handbook for counselors to use with consumers as they are preparing for vocational goal development that may or may not include training. It includes how to identify possible employers to contact, how to set up the face-to-face interview, a list of possible questions consumers can ask during interviews, excellent tips on how consumers should conduct themselves, and methods and strategies to use throughout the whole process, pp. 24, 2011.
 E-4 Windmills Training Program provides employers with information on the action-oriented, disability awareness program called Windmills, 3-fold pamphlet, 2011.
 E-11 RSC Fact Sheet on SSI Work Incentive 1619 (a) and (b) provides comprehensive information about a work incentive that enables SSI recipients to earn more while maintaining SSI and Medicaid eligibility, pp. 4, 2011.

 G-4 How to Make the Most out of Your Doctor Visit provides people with disabilities with some tips for getting ready for their first doctor visit and resources for specific disabilities, pp. 20.
 G-5 Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission and Ohio Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities Publications List provides an annotated listing of publications available from RSC and GCPD, pp. 2, 2011.

 IL-3 Ohio Personal Care Assistance outlines personal care assistance available for Ohioans with disabilities, 4-fold pamphlet, 2011. 

 

Rehabilitation

 S-1 Finding a job should be about ABILITY outlines for the general public the structure and services of the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, the state vocational rehabilitation agency, 3-fold pamphlet, 2011.
 S-2 A Guide to Transition Services: Helping Students with Disabilities Move from School to Work describes services available through RSC and the Ohio Department of Education which helps students make the transition from school to work. It focuses on the vocational rehabilitation referral process and services for youth with severe disabilities who are eligible for RSC services, pp. 8, 2011.
 S-3 Consumer Guide to Post-Secondary Educational Training explains the policies and requirements involved when a person receives postsecondary educational training services from RSC. Services may be provided at a variety of colleges, technical schools, training programs, etc. Educational expenses include tuition, fees, books and supplies, pp. 10, 2011.
 S-4 Veterans’ Guide to Vocational Rehabilitation Services informs Ohio’s veterans with disabilities on how RSC and other Ohio agencies can help them with their career goals, 1-fold pamphlet, 2011.
 S-10 Ticket to Work Program is a Social Security Administration program for people ages 18 - 64 who receive Social Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or both. The eligible SSI or SSDI beneficiary who receives a “ticket” can redeem it at RSC or an employment network for services that lead to employment, 3-fold pamphlet, 2011.
 S-21 Is a Job in Your Future? describes vocational rehabilitation and other Rehabilitation Services Commission programs for people with visual impairments, 3-fold pamphlet, 2011.
 S-25 Ohio Client Assistance Program describes this program of the Governor’s Office of Advocacy for People with Disabilities, pp. 1, 2008.
 S-30 Brain Injury: Get the Facts, gives the facts about how most brain injuries occur, who is at risk and what you can do to prevent them. It also describes the Ohio Brain Injury Advisory Committee, who the members are and what they do. 3-fold pamphlet, 2011.
